UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE AND FUNCTION BEHIND G-10
WHY NON-METALLIC BLADES ARE BECOMING MORE POPULAR
As the world changes, so do our tactics. As most of our followers know, we advocate for the good guys. To do what is right and just. We have never and will never encourage anyone to break the law. However, we find ourselves continually challenged with being told what to do in an unjust and unrealistic manner. This is not just a national challenge, this is an international crisis. We must continue to pray on and use our best judgment in situations where protecting ourselves and our families is of extreme importance. We have to be willing to adapt to the changing world around us.
What is G-10?
G-10 is a woven fiber infused with a hardened epoxy. The fibers woven together give G-10 a unique ability to have strength but remain light weight. It gives specific tools the ability to be extremely durable without the use of metal.
JUST HOW DURABLE IS G-10?
G-10 is able to withstand extreme pressures and heat. The G-10 we use is in fact fire retardant and will withstand heat/fire. The real durability question does not necessarily come into play when talking about the Blade or material being ran over with a car. You could probably do that forever and it would not change much. But when it comes to extreme impact in a COMBATIVE SCENARIO, THAT is what we are interested in. So how does it hold up? We carry G-10 in the state that you will receive it in which is solid and ready to go, but we also understand that it will not be one of those tools that is used for repeated beating and impact not a hard surface. In other words, we train very lightly/deliberately with the G-10 blades we carry. We carry them for those extreme situations we will need to draw them and put them to work. We want them to be structurally ready for the fight. The tip specifically is what we want to keep in the “ready” condition. The tip will always be designed for maximum penetration and durability. There is a balance there. The “pointier” you make it, the weaker the surrounding material will become. We test and test our gear in order to ensure its most effective and broadest range of use.
BOTTOM LINE
The bottom line here is, to take care of your G-10 and the tip so it is ready when it needs to be. We always recommend using one of our training blades in place of a live blade or G-10 blade so that you can beat it up without the worry that it will be in some way weakened by high impact in training.
OPTIONS
G-10 allows you to have options. It broadens how and when you can carry. When traveling G-10 gives you a more direct and efficient means of carrying.
